Our Family

We feel very fortunate that our child will have wonderful grandparents to spend time with. Michaela’s mom, Mary, lives a few minutes away and is extremely excited about being a grandmother. She is a very caring playful person who loves children. Mary has a flexible schedule, so she plans to spend lots of time with Michaela and her grandchild during the day. Her home is already stocked with toys, art supplies and children’s books.



Dale’s mom, Jean, lives a few hours away and is recently retired so she will be able to come often for visits. She is a very gentle and thoughtful person who loves children and has a wonderful way of helping them explore the mysteries of the world. Jean is a devoted mother and a patient teacher.

Michaela’s dad, George, and his wife Donna live in Austin. They are both warm, loving, fun people. George is a retired engineer who builds and flies model airplanes. He loves to teach kids how to fly and show them how to build things in his workshop. Donna is “people person” who always has a smile on her face and sees the best in everyone. She is a great cook and makes the best cherry pie we have ever tasted.



Dale’s dad, Tom, lives in Lake Havasu, Arizona. He is a very open and loving person who enjoys life every day. He spends lots of his time hiking in the desert with his dog Maude, swimming in his pool and boating on the lake, as well of doing lots of volunteer work. He looks forward to exploring the world and its wonders with his new grandchild.
We have a large extended family across the country in California, Texas, Georgia, North Carolina, Washington DC and New Hampshire.

When we shared our decision to adopt a child, our entire family was very excited and supportive.  They all look forward to welcoming our new child with love and open arms.
